Pulisic hits back at dating rumors with Hollywood actress Sydney Sweeney

Over the past 24 hours, American social media has been filled with speculation about a possible romance between 2 of the country’s biggest stars in sports and entertainment. The rumors suggested that Pulisic and Sweeney were dating, a claim that quickly gained traction across various online platforms.

The speculation reportedly originated from an Italian gossip outlet and was later shared by major publications like Gazzetta dello Sport. These reports were based on a specific Instagram post that claimed a relationship was "blossoming" between the USMNT captain and the famous actress. 

However, the American media quickly noted the lack of evidence, especially since both stars are currently in committed relationships with other people.

As the rumors began to affect his personal life, Pulisic decided to break his silence and address the situation directly. On his Instagram Story, he wrote: “Please stop with the made up stories about my personal life. Need to hold sources accountable; it can affect people's lives.” 

He further clarified his stance by commenting “Fake news guys let’s stop with the silly rumor” on a popular social media post that shared the news.

In reality, Pulisic is in a happy, long-term relationship with Alexa Melton. The 21-year-old professional American golfer has been dating the soccer star since the summer of 2024. The couple frequently shares happy moments on social media, and Melton has often traveled to Italy to support Pulisic during his matches for AC Milan.

On the field, Pulisic remains in peak form. In Sunday's 3-0 victory against Hellas Verona at San Siro, he opened the scoring with a well-placed volley. 

Interestingly, the 27-year-old celebrated his goal by forming a heart shape with his hands, a gesture widely interpreted by fans as a tribute to Melton and a firm response to the dating rumors. Pulisic has now scored 8 goals in Serie A this season, trailing only Lautaro Martinez in the race for the Golden Boot.

Meanwhile, Sweeney is also focused on her own life and career. After ending her seven-year relationship with producer Jonathan Davino earlier this year, the 28-year-old actress has moved on with music executive Scooter Braun. 

The pair was first linked in early September and has since been spotted together in various locations, from Italy to New York City’s Central Park.

Sweeney is also celebrating professional success with her latest film, The Housemaid. The thriller earned an impressive $20 million during its opening weekend, marking a significant turnaround compared to the lower box office returns of her previous projects like Christy and Americana.
